OEM Project Workflow: From Inquiry to Repeat Order

An OEM compostable bag project involves more than manufacturing the bag itself.

The product specification, target market, certification requirements, artwork, packaging and commercial terms should be confirmed before mass production begins.

Our typical OEM workflow follows the steps below.

Step 1. Requirement & Application Review

We start by reviewing your product application and basic requirements.
Please provide the product type, bag size, thickness, structure, estimated quantity, target market and packing requirements where available.

If the final specification is not ready, you can also send an existing bag, drawing, photo or reference sample.

If you need help defining the bag size, thickness, structure or packing format, explore our Custom Compostable Bags capabilities.

Step 2. Specification & Certification Confirmation

We review the proposed bag specification together with the target market, certification requirements and commercial conditions.

Key items may include size, thickness, bag structure, color, printing, order quantity, packaging format, MOQ and estimated lead time.

Different markets may require different compostability standards. Review our Compostable Certifications for the USA, Europe, Australia and other target markets.

For standard order quantities, production planning and typical project timing, see our MOQ & Lead Time Guidelines.

Step 3. Sample & Artwork Approval

Depending on the project, buyers may evaluate existing samples, similar-specification samples or customized samples before mass production.

For printed or branded products, we also confirm artwork, Pantone colors, print position, roll labels and retail packaging files where applicable.

If your project requires logos, product text or custom artwork on the bag, see our Custom Printed Compostable Bags capabilities.

If you also need roll labels, retail boxes, barcode/SKU control or branded cartons, explore our Private Label Compostable Packaging program.

Step 4. Production & Quality Control

After the specification and required artwork are approved, we arrange production planning and prepare the materials, printing plates and packaging components required for the order.

A typical production flow may include:

Film Extrusion → Printing → Bag Making → Sealing → Rewinding / Folding → Packing

During production, key specifications are checked against the approved project requirements.

For a detailed look at film extrusion, printing, bag making and conversion, see our guide to the Compostable Bags Manufacturing Process.

Step 5. Final Inspection & Shipment

Before shipment, the finished products and packing are checked against the approved order requirements.

Typical checks may include product specification, carton quantity, retail packaging, barcode/SKU, carton markings, pallet configuration and shipping documents.

EXW, FOB, CIF or DDP can be reviewed according to the destination and project requirements.

Step 6. Repeat Order Control

For repeat production, the approved specification and project records are used as references for the next order.

These may include bag dimensions, thickness, film color, printing artwork, Pantone references, roll configuration, packaging version, barcode/SKU and carton specification.

Any requested changes are reviewed before the next production run.

Where Production Is Controlled

Key production stages are coordinated through our manufacturing system so that bag conversion, printing, packing and quality checks can follow the same approved project reference.

  • Film Extrusion
  • Printing
  • Bag Making
  • Sealing
  • Rewinding / Folding
  • Packing & QC

ORIZON operates:

  • 20,000 m² production facility
  • 16 automatic production lines
  • approximately 500 tons monthly production capacity
  • 16+ years of manufacturing experience

OEM Quality Control Checkpoints

Quality control should follow the product through different stages rather than rely only on a final visual inspection.

Stage Typical Check
Raw Material Material and batch reference
Film Thickness and appearance
Bag Making Dimensions and structure
Sealing Seal quality
Perforation Tear performance
Printing Position and consistency
Roll Count and winding
Packing Quantity, label and carton
Final Inspection Approved specification reference

The exact inspection points depend on the product type and customer requirements.

OEM Process FAQ

No. If the final specification is not ready, you can send an existing bag, drawing, target product, photos or basic dimensions.

We can identify which details still need to be confirmed.

Not necessarily.

Depending on the project, evaluation may begin with existing samples, similar-specification samples or custom samples.

Retail packaging should normally be finalized after the bag or roll specification is confirmed.

Changes in thickness, roll count or finished roll diameter may affect the required box dimensions.

Artwork is normally reviewed after the relevant bag size, printing area and packaging format are sufficiently defined.

Only where the final product is covered by the applicable certification scope and the logo-use requirements are satisfied.

Certification marks should not be assumed to apply automatically to every custom product.

Standard custom production MOQ typically starts from approximately 500 kg per specification.

Actual requirements depend on the bag type, size, thickness, color, printing and packaging.

Yes.

Approved specifications, artwork, color references and packaging information can be maintained as references for repeat orders.

Yes. If you need retail boxes, roll labels, barcode / SKU control and branded carton packaging, see our dedicated Private Label Packaging program.
