Compostability Certification & Product Scope
ORIZON maintains certification and technical documentation relating to specified compostable bag products, technical standards and third-party certification programs.
Depending on the applicable product type and final finished-product specification, relevant documentation may relate to technical standards such as EN 13432, ASTM D6400, AS 4736 and AS 5810, and certification programs administered by organizations including TÜV AUSTRIA, BPI, ABA and DIN CERTCO.
ORIZON’s current OK compost INDUSTRIAL and OK compost HOME certificates by TÜV AUSTRIA cover the certified Product Types “Bags for collection of biodegradable refuse” and “Shopping bags (check-out bags)”, subject to the scope, conditions and specifications stated in the applicable certificate.
Certification does not automatically apply to every product or configuration shown on this page. Applicability must be confirmed against the applicable current certificate and the final finished-product specification, including relevant factors such as product type, dimensions, thickness, material formulation, colour, printing and other finished-product characteristics.
Certification for produce bags must be confirmed against the applicable certificate, product classification and final finished-product specification.
Garment bags, mailer bags, sanitary bags and other product types must not be assumed to fall within ORIZON’s existing waste-bag or shopping-bag certification scope unless specifically confirmed under the applicable certification documentation.
